Events for the Week of January 17
School Events
Exams are starting on Thursday this week. If there is a delay, there will be no exams held that day. If a delay occurs on a reverse-schedule day, the day will still meet in reverse even though no exams will be given.
If school is canceled, the exams scheduled for that day will be postponed to the following day.
Be sure that you arrive on time for your exam.
Next week, remember that in order for you to take your exams for your end of day classes without the interruption of lunches, we will have two reverse schedule days. Students who early dismissal in their schedules will have late arrival on these reverse days.
We're sure that you've been preparing for these exams by organizing and reviewing your notes, setting up times to meet with your teachers to review any skills that challenged you in the past, and spending time using your study guides provided to you by your teachers.
On Tuesday we will have our Grade 8 Open House at 6:00pm. Please share this information with those you know who may be entering into BEHS next year.

BE Events for the Week of January 9
BE Events for Students and Staff
We'd like to encourage all students and families to come to College Credit Night this Tuesday. There are so many ways our students can now earn college credit while in high school giving the students the benefit of the rigor of a college class with the support of a high school program and giving parents the benefit of not having to pay the typical amount for a college course. Please come to the auditorium Tuesday night at 6:30pm to hear more about our college credit course offerings here at BEHS!
Prior to that event, we're hosting an informational sessions for parents and their teens about Khan Academy. You may be aware that our students have recently received their PSAT scores from the test they took this past October. Their scores on the PSAT are a good indication of how they would have performed on the SAT had it been taken that day. Our juniors will be taking the SAT in April and those students planning on attending two or four year college or university after high school want their best SAT score. College Board offers a free resource to students to help boost their scores called Khan Academy. Because Khan Academy uses students' unique PSAT results, it can tailor the practice and instruction to students' individual needs. Please come to the library at 5:45pm on Tuesday to see how Khan Academy works so that you can encourage you son or daughter to use this very valuable resource.
