Home Athletic Events

There will be eight colleges visiting the school this week to provide presentations for prospective students.  Encourage your junior or senior to stop by!  For those who are interested in a career pathway, there will be a tour of a local manufacturing company, DaCruz Manufacturing on October 7th.  Interested students can sign up in guidance.

Fundraisers

Football Boosters will be holding a Fundraiser on Wednesday, October 5th at Chili's in Bristol, CT.  Class of 2018 will be selling T-shirts throughout the week as a fundraiser for their class. Project Graduation will be selling Butter Braids from 9/30-10/14.  Pick up will be on November 18th, just in time for Thanksgiving.  Flyers were distributed last week in homeroom.

Home Varsity Athletic Events

There will be nine visits from colleges to Bristol Eastern High School.  Students are encouraged to check them out! 

Homework help will be offered every Thursday from 2:15-3:15pm beginning this week.  One of our math teachers will be providing students with a quiet place to study and  complete homework, and will be available to support students with their homework.  There will also be late bus transportation home each Thursday at 3:30pm for any student who normally rides a bus.  Students need to sign up for the late bus by 9:00am Thursday mornings in our front office.  Anyone can drop in for homework help on Thursdays.  We encourage our students to attend.

The AVID students from the class of 2017 will conduct a sock drive to donate to local organization, Brian's Angels". If you're interested in participating in this drive please contact Room 239 to have a box delivered to your room.We will be asking for adult socks preferably.

I wanted to take a moment to invite you to what should be an excellent community event at Bristol Eastern High School taking place next Thursday evening at 6:00pm.  We have invited Rachel's Challenge to present to our students during the day and to our families and community in the evening.  This program is based on the life of Rachel Scott, who was killed in the Columbine High School shooting in 1999.  After her death, her family discovered multiple essays and drawings expressing Rachel's belief in the power of being kind to one another.  This program encourages our students to Look for the Best in Others,  Dream Big, Choose Positive Influences, Speak with Kindness,  Start Your Own Chain Reaction of kindness.    We're excited about what this could bring to our student community and even more excited to be able to share it with the community at-large!  Please save this date on your calendars.  We're hoping students come home excited to share with you what they gained from the program during the day on 9/22 and invite you to come back to school that evening.

Before or after Rachel's Challenge, please stop by Dunphy's and support our school in our fundraiser being held there.

We hope that students enjoyed their first two days at Bristol Eastern High School.  Our teachers and staff were happy to have students' energy back in the building again.  We hope that our students and families had a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend.

Seniors, if you have not yet had your photo taken by Art Rich, please make an appointment by calling Art Rich to do so on Thursday, September 8.  If you do not have your photo taken in the senior sessions, your photo will not be in the yearbook.  Please email Mr. Zimmerman should you have any questions.
