Events for the Week of March 24

School Events

Thank you to the families we met with last week at our parent conferences.  This week, we'll be reviewing our end of year expectations with each class of students on Friday.  Now might be a good time to review our dress code policy and policies about tardiness and absences with your teen as well.  All of our policies are available by going to the Student and Family Handbook on our school webpage.  We also remind you to review your family plan in response to any school emergency.

This week our project graduation committee is hosting a meeting for parents and seniors to share with you exciting details about the substance free after graduation celebration.  At this meeting, permission slips will be distributed and  collected, so it is strongly encouraged that you attend.  A second and final meeting will be held for those who cannot make the meeting this week later in April.

Juniors and seniors did receive information last advisory about their absences and tardies in relation to being in good standing for upcoming activities.  Many of the tardies were duplicated.  We are working with PowerSchool now to determine the cause of that error and will reprint this information for students.  In the meantime, they can speak with their administrator if they have any questions regarding activity restriction.

Events for the week of March 14

School Events

Sophomores will be taking the CAPT science exam this Thursday.  In the past, our students have done well on this test, and we're expecting to see even better results this year!  Students should check the lists posted outside of our administrative office to be sure they know where to go on Thursday.  All other students will have classes as usual.  It is a full day of school and the schedule has been slightly modified to give six more minutes to both first and second blocks.  Students who are taking the CAPT should be sure to have a good night's rest, breakfast in the morning, and should come to school prepared with a few number two pencils.  Good luck to our sophomores.

Students should begin to sign up for parent conferences this week. Parent conferences will be held next Tuesday evening on March 22.  Additional copies of the parent conference information is available in our front and guidance offices.

Our athletic banquet for winter sports will be held this Tuesday evening.  Students should have already returned their rsvp and have purchased tickets for their families.  Families should not begin to arrive until 6:00pm.

We'd like to invite you to our Choral Concert Wednesday evening at 7:00pm.

We'll have advisory this Wednesday.  Juniors and Seniors, please pay attention to the Wednesday schedule.

On Tuesday, our Latin students will participate in the National Latin Exam, which could potentially qualify students for scholarships for college.

Speaking of scholarships, so many of our scholarships aren't awarded every year because no one applies.  Please do not let the opportunity to have funds to use for college slip by.  There is a scholarship center in our guidance office.  Please take a moment and stop by.
