This week Smarter Balanced testing begins for high school students in Bristol. Only juniors will be taking this assessment. Juniors will be taking this assessment in their regularly scheduled English and math classes so we will have very few changes to our normal schedule. That said, on Thursday and Friday this week, classes will meet in reverse order, beginning with block 7/8, then 5/6, then 3/4 and then 1/2. Students who normally have early dismissal will have late arrival and vice versa. This schedule will be for Thursday and Friday only.
Some students will need to take lunch at a time different from their normally scheduled lunch time. Students who have Mrs. Vetrano, Dr. Bittel, Mrs. Chace and Ms. Dilernia for period 5/6 will need to go directly to their teacher on Monday instead of going to lunch. Classes who will have a different lunch later in the week will be announced during school throughout the week.
Our strongest science students will be honored Thursday after school at our Science National Honor Society induction. We're looking forward to that event.
For home varsity athletic events this week, we have Golf on Monday verses Middletown, Boys Tennis against RHAM, and Softball against Maloney. On Tuesday we have Outdoor track, Boys Lacrosse against Rocky Hill, and Baseball against Glastonbury. Wednesday, our softball team plays against Bulkeley, and Boys' Tennis competes against East Catholic. On Friday, Boys' Baseball competes against Platt and Boys' Lacross will play against Newington.
Project Graduation would like to remind you of the dance scheduled for this Saturday night for parents. Please purchase your tickets today!

Events for the Week of April 6
We hope everyone enjoyed the holiday weekend.
For school activities this week, we have a Blood Drive for students who are 18 this Thursday. Students who would like to donate should be sure to turn in their permission slips. They are reminded to hydrate well by drinking plenty of water for 24 hours in advance of their appointment and donators should have a decent breakfast.
We are running advisory this Wednesday. Students with late arrival-please be sure to check the schedule.
For home varsity level athletics this week, we have a Girls' Tennis scrimmage on Tuesday at 3:45pm, Outdoor track on Wednesday, Girls' Softball against EO Smith on Wednesday, Girls' Tennis on Thursday against Bristol Central, and Baseball on Friday against Glastonbury.
We also need to ask for everyone's cooperation and patience in our parking lots. We know the parking lot is flooded with cars and students at pick up and drop off. Please remember to be vigilant for students walking and to give our student walkers the right of way.
