Events for the Week of October 27th

For school events, we have our Blood Drive for eligible juniors and seniors.  Interested students must make an appointment through your student council representatives and have a permission slip signed by your parents or guardians and your teachers. If you have made an appointment for Wednesday, be sure you have a good breakfast and begin hydrating yourself by drinking plenty of water beginning on Tuesday.

On Thursday evening at 6:00pm, our guidance department is hosting an ECMC College Night.  Parents and students can rsvp with their guidance counselor.  It will be a one hour presentation on the benefits of college, the search process, and financial aide.  Three attendees will be selected that night for a $500 scholarship from ECMC.

For home varsity events this week, we have a Girls'  volleyball game Monday night at 6:00pm.  Tonight is senior night so we hope to see you there.  We play our cross town rivals tonight at Muzzy in both boys' and girls' soccer for their senior night games.  On Friday, our cross country team competes in the CIAC open championship. For details about away competitions, please see our webpage.

For parent events this week, Project Graduation is meeting Tuesday night at 6:30pm in our library.  They're looking for senior and junior parents who are willing to work on the after graduation celebration for our students.

Our week concludes on October 31st--Halloween.  No masks will be allowed in school, though students can dress in costumes. The same standards for dress code and appropriateness will still apply.

Events for the Week of October 20th

We have parent conferences on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week.  If your son or daughter has not brought home your schedule for conferences, please contact his or her guidance counselor to be sure that appointments are made.

Next week, we will be hosting an ECMC College Informational and planning night next Thursday, October 30th for junior and senior students with one parent.  We'll be providing dinner and information about four areas relative to planning for students' future after high school.  In addition, we will be selecting three attendees for a $500 scholarship.  Please stop by our guidance office for more information while you're here for conferences or email your teen's guidance counselor.  You must rsvp to this event.

Please help us win at least $25,000 for our school by committing to teen driving safety.  Go to celebratemydrive.com, enter your email address and search for Bristol Eastern High School.  Answer two questions and make a commitment.  If we have the largest volume of commitments we can win up to $100,000.

The schedule for students this week is shortened due to parent conferences.  The schedule is posted on our webpage.  Students will still begin their day at 7:35, but will be ending their day at 12:06.  Students will not have a lunch period.  Click here and go to page 15:  http://www.bristol.k12.ct.us/uploaded/Bristol_eastern/Student_Handbook.pdf

For varsity home games this week, we have Volleyball and Girls' Soccer tonight at 6:00pm  competing against Platt.  On Tuesday night, at 6:00pm, the Swim team competes against Platt and Maloney.  On Thursday evening, Bristol Eastern soccer will play "the other team" at Muzzy.  On Friday, at 4:00, Boys' Soccer will compete against Bulkeley.  On Saturday, our cross country teams will be competing in the Class L Championships.
